Safety is our number one priority.

At Penn Ohio Sealing we are committed to ensuring that our job sites are safe for our employees and customers. We do this by making sure our foremen and employees are properly trained in all possible safety procedures and have a daily safety plan. All Penn Ohio Employees are evaluated quarterly on all safety procedures and rewarded based on their performance.

Customer safety is also something that Penn Ohio takes seriously. Removing accidents on the job site not only reduces the risk of physical harm for our customers, but decreases the likeliness of project delays.

Education:

Having a workforce that undergoes extensive safety training is the first step to having a successful safety program. To educate our employees we have two mandatory safety meetings each year. Each meeting takes 8 hours to complete and our employees and managers are paid to be there. During these meetings we bring in top safety experts in our area to talk with our workforce regarding current safety issues and current events. Penn Ohio is also proud to be a part of the Drug Free Safety Program in conjunction with The Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation.

Plan and Respond:

Our management team works diligently to ensure that our current safety policies and procedures are up to date with current events and risks. All of our crews are provided with up to date material from the Federal Motor Carrier Association and the Department of Transportation.  It is important to us that all of our employees are in compliance with law and regulations. We put together comprehensive plans to make sure that our safety goals are met every single day.

Penn Ohio Safety Division - Our safety division is responsible for overseeing traffic control and construction site barrier control. They coordinate and run pre-job safety meetings as well as daily on-site job safety meetings.

JSA Forms - Each crew is required to fill out a job safety analysis (JSA) form each day. The form requires each crew to identify potential hazards, confirms use of PPE, and provides suggestions to make each job the safest it can be.

Safety Gear - Penn Ohio provides all of its employees with all of the necessary safety gear. Safety vests, hardhats, gloves, ear safety, and shirts are provided multiple times per year to ensure all of our employees have what they need.

Reward:

To reward our employees hard work and commitment to creating a safe workplace Penn Ohio Sealing has created the SAFETY FIRST rewards program. We evaluate our employees quarterly and reward them for performing exceptional safety practices. We reward coupons that are redeemable on our online merchandise store.
